Art was an amazing man who not only had an outstanding career in the USN Nuclear Submarine Force for 30 years, but also managed to earn 2 Masters Degrees during that time. Art was a firm believer in giving back to one's community and after his retirement in 1993, spent the next 27 years doing just that. He served and headed many community boards in the various cities we lived in, and was an extremely active Kiwanis International member for 28 years. Art Volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Salvation Army, was actively involved with the local food banks in whatever area he was needed most, and worked with elementary schools in their various reading programs for young children. He also spent many hours as an Kiwanis Advisor to Key Club High School members in their volunteering and charitable programs, and in helping them in general plan for their futures. Art was, and continues to be, a much loved and greatly missed man.
