Sylvia Star (Richey) - Class Of 1958 VIEW PROFILE

SYLVIA STAR RICHEY, 1940 ~ 2015

Sylvia Zona (Starr) Richey, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully after battling a lengthy illness.  Sylvia was born in Detroit Michigan, but lived most of her childhood in California.  She attended Fullerton High School, where she participated in synchronized swimming, and made many life-long friends.  After graduating from high school, she attended Albion College in Michigan.  Sylvie, as she was known, led a full life raising a family, working as a Media Specialist in the Fullerton School District and traveling the world.  The U.S. Virgin islands, where she lived for several years, always held a special place in her heart.  In her later years, Sylvia served as an Honorary Board Member of the Starr Commonwealth, an internationally recognized organization supporting at risk and disabled youth that was founded by her Grandfather.  Sylvia is survived by her family who will always remember her quirky ways and giving spirit.  A memorial celebrating Sylvia’s life will be held on November 7th 2015 at the Community Church of Leisure World in Seal Beach at 10:00am.
