Joseph Edward "Ted" Sullivan - Class Of 1953 VIEW PROFILE

Joseph Edward “Ted” Sullivan, Jr. passed away February 27, 2018 in Prescott, AZ. at the age of 82.  Ted was born July 15, 1935 in Orange, CA. to Joseph and Frances (Rhynalds) Sullivan. He graduated from Fullerton High in 1953, Fullerton Community College in 1955, and the Los Angles Mortuary Science School in 1956.

On July 6, 1956 he married Elizabeth Ann Hallock at the First Presbyterian Church in Fullerton, CA.

Ted served his apprenticeship and began his career in Southern California.  In 1968, Ted, Betsy and their boys moved to Lone Pine, CA, where he owned and operated Owens Valley Mortuary and served as Inyo County Deputy Coroner until 1984.  He then relocated back to Orange County, where he finished his career with the Orange County Sheriff’s office as a Senior Deputy Coroner in the Investigation Unit.  He retired in 2000.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betsy Sullivan of Prescott, Az., sons Timothy, and wife Pamela, and Michael, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard A. Sullivan.

Ted was a lifelong baseball fan and spent his youth playing the game as a skilled catcher, and later in life he continued to enjoy following all levels of competitive baseball. He enjoyed watching spring training and looking for the rising talent.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Loma Vista Memorial Park, 701 E. Bastanchury Road, Fullerton, CA.
