Mr. Jerry Dale Choate was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of The Allstate Corporation, a Director of Valero Energy Corporation and served on the Board of Trustees for the Van Kampen Mutual Funds. He loved his family and had many close friends. He was a great golfer and enjoyed life to the fullest.

Jerry was a good athlete in high school, played baseball and track. Was still a good athlete in golf later in life. He retired as CEO and Chairman of the board of directors. from Allstate Insurance company many years ago. He continued to work on the board of directors of many companies until his cancer denied him that work. He was a very generous man and he established the JDC Foundation to provide scholarships to many needy students. He will be missed by his many friends.
