Went to Fullerton Junior College for 1 yr after FUHS; transferred to UC Berkeley graduated with degree in Botany. Graduate school UC Berkeley, Botany Department,1963-1964.
Went to Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego 1965-1971; graduated with a PhD in Marine Biology.
Taught Biology at Harvard University 1971-1978
Taught Biology at University of Houston 1978-2008
Retired 2008 and moved from Galveston, Texas to Cedar Grove, North Carolina.
