PGR Statewide - CA -
SGT Mack Woolley, USA, Vietnam KIA
Place: Fullerton, CA,
Mission: 20 SEP 2014

We have been invited by Mack Woolley's classmates from the 1964 graduating class of Fullerton Union High School to be present to honor him as part of their 50th class reunion.

This is a very special mission. Mack was the only KIA from his class, and when he was killed and returned home for burial his mother was very distraught and confused by all the negativity surrounding the war and she would not allow him to have his military honors. We have been invited to help right this wrong, long overdue, we are very honored to be a part of this.

SGT Mack Woolley served in the US Army and was sent to Vietnam almost immediately after being sworn in and trained. Eight months later he was Killed in Action, and went from Recruit to Sergeant in that short period of time, exemplary of his conduct during this very short period.

Mack Woolley is survived by his sister, Donna Woods and 1 niece. He is also survived by his family of classmates from Fullerton Union High School, class of 1964 and the 36 fellow Vietnam Vets in that class who will be at the reunion to honor him.

We are treating this as a KIA since this should have happened 50 years ago when he was killed. We have had our PGR brothers in Arlington, VA go to The Wall and obtain a rubbing of his name which has been placed on a plaque of remembrance for his sister Donna. We are also presenting tags for this mission.

The Mayor of Fullerton, Doug Chaffee, will be the keynote speaker at the service, along with 2 of Mack's classmates, John Snow and Ron Sekkel.
