Mrs. Ruth “Ruthie” Ann Parke Hiltscher, 86, of Cedar Hills, Utah, formerly of Fullerton, California, died unexpectedly Wednesday May 6, 2020 at home in Cedar Hills, Utah.

She was born July 18, 1933 in Pitman, Gloucester, New Jersey to her parents late William Henry Weldon Parke and Emma Bleakley Boon. She grew up in New Jersey, until her family moved to Fullerton, California. A graduate of Fullerton Union High School and later Fullerton Junior College, where she met and married Roland Carl Hiltscher in 1953.

She worked at Bank of America in Fullerton, putting Roland through college. Then worked as a librarian at Randolph AFB, in San Antonio until they left the service and then worked as the secretary of Roland Hiltscher Photography beginning in 1960, until their retirement in 2005.

Her passion and joy came from family, always wanting to find a way to get another picture to remember an event, especially family pictures. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, baptized in 1963. In her church life, she found incredible fulfillment in working with children, youth and Relief Society sisters. She loved hosting church events and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed. She always put Heavenly Father and family first.

An avid amateur genealogist, she loved finding her ancestors and connecting with distant cousins and her mind was always working on connecting the relationships. She cherished every moment she could spend with family. She had a knack of making everyone part of her family.

A deeply devoted wife of Roland for 66 years, she was blessed with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved brother William Henry Weldon Parke, US Navy and beloved sister Sarah Elizabeth (Parke) Barrett and precious grandson Cole Merrill.

She is survived by her husband, Roland Carl Hiltscher, whom she married September 4, 1953 in Anaheim, California; her children, Brad Hiltscher of Washington, DC, Brian (Janine) Hiltscher of Cary, NC, Brenda (Michael Iaquinta) Jensen of Salem, OR, Carla (Sam) Merrill of Alpine, UT, Brent (Nichole) Hiltscher of Marysville, OH and William (Marie) Hiltscher of Magnolia,TX. Grandchildren, Aaron (Ashley) Jensen, Adam (Aliya) Jensen, Andrew (Alexis Acosta) Jensen, Cristina (Dwayne) Murphy, Stephanie (Chandler) Balkman, Rachael (Jake) Green, Sam (Tessa) Merrill, Jaden Merrill, Riley Merrill, Jake (Jenesis) Hiltscher, Natalie Hiltscher, JT Hiltscher, Brooke Hiltscher, James Hiltscher, Sabrina Hiltscher, Ethan Hiltscher, Alex Hiltscher, Andrew Hiltscher, Kaia Hiltscher, Xander Hiltscher. Great-grandchildren John, Chloe, Tessa, Madelyn, Brooklyn.
