Julie Diane (Barr) Gess  (36) a resident of Yorba Linda, passed away on March 20, 2001 after a 3 year battle with a malignant brain tumor. She lived in Fullerton for 20 years and graduated from FUHS in 1982. She also graduated from SDSJ and earned a Master’s Degree from CSUF. As an elementary school teacher, she worked in both the Ontario and Placentia school districts.
Julie’s life was dedicated to children. She taught swimming lessons for 20 years and enjoyed softball and scrapbooking.
She is survived by her daughters Kelly Nicole and Stephanie Michele Gess of Yorba Linda, CA; mother Janice G. (Don) Boals of Corona del Mar, CA; father, Thomas L. (Judy) Barr of Grants Pass, OR; brother Michael (Debi) Barr of Beaverton, OR; sisters Laurie Barr of Beaverton, OR and Jenifer Barr of Grants Pass, OR.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, March 24, 2001 in Placentia.
