Oh Steve was such a nice guy and a good friend. I really liked him and though he was so cute when we were in classes together. So sorry to hear about his passing give my condolences to his family please.
Stiefel (we of those times always used last names) and I double dated inumerable times to beach parties, drive-in movies, the Yorba Linda Country Club, and played volleyball and football and boogie boarded at 15th Street Newport Beach and Corona Del Mar and basically just hung out at Hillside. We had some wild times in Silver City, New Mexico ( Western NM Univ.) and Las Cruces (NMSU). Stiefel moved back to Fullerton and I remained in the Rio Grande Valley and we lost contact. His marriage to Judy Evenson did not last. I spoke with him in 2011 about a mini reunion with Scholten, Thompson, Marable, and others from the Hillside Era, but he couldn't attend. We exchanged emails in March and early April, 2019 just before he died. We shared many good times.
