Roger K. Claassen - Class Of 1967 VIEW PROFILE

Roger Keith Claassen, 68, of Anaheim passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
Roger was born in Fullerton on June 17, 1949 to Albert Claassen and Lois Merit. He was a talented carpenter and a longtime volunteer at the Fullerton Arboretum. Roger had a true passion for collecting and admiring cactus and succulent plants, and was a member of the Cactus Society. He frequently visited the desert with his wife of 43 years, Gail Wilson, to see his favorite plants in their natural environment. Blues music also brought Roger joy, and he loved to walk on the sands of Southern California beaches with Gail. Roger was a loving caretaker of several cats and dogs.
Roger is survived by his wife Gail, his father Albert of Paso Robles, his sister Sue Schairer of Anaheim, and his pets Zipper, Zelda and Josie.
In lieu of flowers, Roger's family and friends are contributing to a named bench in the Fullerton Arboretum in honor of Roger.

Craig Mathews (1967)

Roger and I took German class together.  And a lot better at it ghan I was.  Sorry to hear of his passing and condolences to his family.

Jill Gipson (1968)

Roger and I were lab partners in Mr. Daniel's biology class and he was kind enough to do ALL of our frog disection so I didn't have to. I've never forgotten him for that. He always kept me laughing in class. I'm sorry to learn of his passing.
