David William Massey

July 23, 1962 - July 12, 2017

David William Massey, a 19-year resident of Arroyo Grande, CA, passed away surrounded by his loved ones, on July 12th, 2017, at the age of 54.

David is survived by his wife Daniela Massey; his son, Joey Massey; parents, Bill and Rosette Massey; siblings, Denise Jimmerson (Mick); Maureen Harrell (Rick); Renee Massey (Al); Mike Massey (Lil); Craig Massey (Shelli); Brian Massey; Bonnie Grant (Mark), and 9 nieces.

David was born in Royal Oak, Michigan in 1962 to Bill and Rosette Massey. He was raised in Chicago, IL until the age of 8, then the family moved to Fullerton, CA, where he lived out the rest of his childhood years. Dave attended Fullerton High School and Fullerton College. David then moved to Turlock, where he attended Stanislaus State University. On April 23rd, 1994, David married Daniela Vargas in Turlock, CA. In 1998, they relocated to Arroyo Grande, CA where they celebrated the joyous birth of their son, Joey, in 2004.

David was a devoted husband and father who loved animals, gardening, and any outdoor activity, whether it be fishing, camping, or just walking on the beach. David had an adventurous spirit and loved nothing more than a spontaneous road trip. David loved people, never met a stranger, and was the life of every party! He lived life to the fullest, had a quick wit and a contagious laugh. David will be dearly missed by his family and the countless friends that he met throughout his life.

David was a talented General Building Contractor, who loved building and remodeling homes, always with an impeccable flair! David’s entrepreneurial passion, his vast knowledge in the construction industry, and his strive for perfection, made him a beloved mentor to many.
